Instead of the traditional year-in-review message from the president, I’m going to take a detour inspired by the season of gratitude.
What we really need to say is THANK YOU. Thank you to all the PRSA Dallas members, board members, volunteers, educators, students, friends, sponsors, partners, and allies.
Thank you to those of you who:
…attended a program
…joined PRSA Dallas for the first time
…renewed your membership
…signed up for group membership
…shared your expertise
…learned something new
…took on a challenge
…pushed a boundary
…encouraged a student
…empowered a new grad
…lifted up a young professional
…weathered a job change
…started the APR journey
…entered a competition
…or stepped forward to serve as a volunteer.
Thank you for choosing the best career on the planet.
Thank you for lending your talent and creativity to organizations and people who need you.
Thank you for bringing their stories to life.
Thank you for shining a light on great causes.
Thank you for powering through when the work gets hard.
Thank you for working late to get the job done.
Thank you for toughing out all those virtual meetings.
Thank you for staying true to your ethical compass.
Thank you for providing exceptional counsel to clients and colleagues.
And thank you for building a community of people who share a passion for public relations.
We see you. We value you, and we can never offer you enough gratitude for your part in elevating our profession.
2023 was the year PRSA Dallas made a sharp turn toward “Recovery Street” after the pandemic. We had a full slate of blockbuster, in-person events, and because of your support and involvement, PRSA Dallas is one of the top chapters in the U.S. But just wait. It will get even better.
Soon it will be time to pass the presidential torch to your 2024 President Kenn Dixon, APR, and I have not the slightest doubt that his leadership will propel the chapter to even greater success. Thank you once again, and all the best this holiday season.
With gratitude,
Lisa Vasquez, APR
PRSA Dallas President 2023
