Speaker bio:
Michael Trevino
Assistant Vice President, External Communications
Mike Trevino joined BNSF Railway as assistant vice president, External Communications, on Feb.1, 2014. In this role, he is responsible for media relations, advertising, marketing communications and BNSF’s social media presence.
Prior to joining BNSF, Mike was managing director for external communications for AMR Corporation and its operating subsidiaries American Airlines and American Eagle. At American, he was responsible for global external communications for the airline’s operations in Europe, Asia and Latin America and its hubs in New York, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles and Dallas/Fort Worth. Trevino and his team also managed external communications related to financial performance, product and service delivery, aircraft acquisitions, maintenance, regulatory and public policy issues. Trevino managed all external communications during the company’s Chapter 11 proceedings, litigation with the U.S. Department of Justice and the airline’s eventual emergence from bankruptcy protection and ultimate merger with US Airways. Prior to American, Trevino worked in the Chicago area from 2000 through 2012 for United Airlines, HSBC, and Allstate Insurance Company in a variety of internal and external communication leadership roles.

Born and raised in San Antonio, Mike currently lives in Southlake, Texas, with his wife and two school-age children.
